Dubai's Leading Technical and Language Training Institute Deploys NativeAccent® Software to Meet Growing Need for English Proficiency

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates and PITTSBURGH, July 16, 2012 - Carnegie Speech, the leader in the development and distribution of English assessment and instruction software, today announced its patented English language learning technology was selected by ITEC in Knowledge Village, Dubai, UAE, to help meet the growing demands of spoken and aural English skills.

ITEC is one of the Middle East's leading institutes for human resources, technical and language development courses and will use Carnegie Speech's NativeAccent English speech training software to improve student spoken-English skills.

"A major challenge in Dubai is communicating with the plethora of second language speakers who come from all parts of the world, each bringing their own unique accent to spoken English. As such, when two second language speakers 'collide,' there is a great chance for miscommunication, which causes disruptions in both employee productivity and advancing business interests," said Mahmood Fazal, owner and director of ITEC. "Offering world-class English instruction will help support Dubai's thriving business community and offer more opportunities as a global business hub."

NativeAccent software combines advanced speech recognition and intelligent tutoring technologies to improve English speaking and listening skills for personnel at multinational corporations and students at international academic institutions. Featuring personalized learning paths based on student mother-tongue, gender and English proficiency, as well as real-time analysis pinpointing student English errors and delivering immediate remedial instruction, NativeAccent minimizes English accents among multinational English speakers to improve communications, reduce errors and increase business efficiencies.

Fazal continued, "ITEC is at the vanguard Dubai's global business culture and by using Carnegie Speech, we are offering our students the most advanced language training technology available."
ITEC will be using NativeAccent in classrooms to complement its instructor's curriculum and will be offered as an at-home study tool. ITEC will also serve as a reseller of Carnegie Speech's NativeAccent in the UAE and the Middle East.

"We are very excited to work with ITEC to bring advanced language assessment and instruction technology to the Middle East market where we see rapid growth and a significant opportunity for Dubai's business community," said Paul Musselman, CEO of Carnegie Speech. "Companies looking at ITEC graduates can feel even more confident they have had the best training possible and will be equipped with superior English language skills to meet the demands of fast rising enterprises."
